Marrakech, Ouarzazate, Ait Benhaddou

• The Kasbah Ait Benhaddou is perfectly preserved and included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is approximately 4 hours drive from Marrakech away. The tour starts from your hotel, along the Tizi-n-tichka Pass at 2260 m, through the twists and turns of the mountain and you reach one of the most spectacular ksours (fortified village). The Kasbah Aït Benhaddou is located on the Trans-Saharan caravan route. The walled village was inhabited by many Berber families. It is really wonderful to walk up the hill overlooking the village and offers a 360 degree view of the valley. After another 22 km you will reach the City of Ouarzazate, home of Atlas Film Studios, where famous films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator and The Mummy were filmed. Afterwards you will have a lunch break at a local restaurant with fantastic views of the ancient Kasbah of Taourirt, the palace, where the last Pacha of Marrakesh lived.
